Stopping Procrastination
I’m going to be honest with you guys right now, I am procrastinating RIGHT NOW! By writing this blog post.
Not everyone is perfect! Well, I’m writing this because procrastination is something we all fall victim to and it’s not something we all love in the long run. Yes, we enjoy watching the YouTube videos, scrolling through Tumblr and Instagram instead of doing work. Let’s be honest, we all hate ourselves to an extent when we have to rush all the work in the end.
So here are some of my tips on how to stop procrastination!
GET RID OF YO PHONE/COMPUTER/GAMEBOY/IPAD!!
Seriously, get rid of all your distractions! You won’t study or learn anything if you keep looking at your phone. Your friend sent you a message, IGNORE IT! Your friend has met a celebrity and wants to tell you about it? IGNORE IT! (Actually, ask for proof that they met that celebrity
then you can ignore it)
DEADLINES ARE COMING FOR YOU!
Use your deadlines are motivation! If there are next week, then make sure you get the work done before next week. Please for the love of all that is holy, don’t do it last-minute!
STUDY/WORK WHEN YOU AREN’T DEAD
If you are tired, go to bed. If you are awake and energised, do some work! Do not force yourself to do the work if you can’t keep your eyes open. Honestly, how do you expect to memorise/learn new things when your brain can’t even do a simple task like keeping your eyes open.
EXERCISE…. Oh yeah.. urm..
You will be surprised that moving your body for 20 minutes is actually good for you! If you don’t have time for a full-blown workout… GET OFF YOUR CHAIR AND WALK AROUND THE HOUSE! It doesn’t take much to move those 2 things called your legs!
EAT BETTER. SAY NO TO MCDONALDS!
Fast food is full of rubbish you don’t need in your body. Eat a carrot for once! Enough said.
TREAT YO’ SELF!
You can’t get through life with treating yourself! If you do well in a test that you studying for, go for dinner with your friends or family. Don’t feel like studying? Say “If I finish this chapter by 4:00PM then I can go have a nap” It will work as an incentive for you to work better.
WHERE IS YOUR INSPIRATION FROM? EMBRACE IT!
The majority of people will do work when they are inspired! Find something that inspires you and use that as fuel!
ENJOY WHAT YOU DO!
Don’t like the subject but you have to take it? Find a way to enjoy it. I didn’t like science, but YouTube made it fun for me! Don’t think you are good enough at a subject? Work towards being the best at that subject. Motivation is key!
