How to relax during Exams
Again, we all know that exams are stressful and we end up having time for nothing else and this is really bad. Don't let the exams consume you, believe me, I have been there and it is a dark and terrible place I have no intention of going back. So how do you relax during exams? Well, you might not realize it, it is easier than you think. So here are some things to do during your busy schedule!
First things first, this is the easiest thing you could ever do! And that is... Get a bottle of water and walk outside. Seriously, go get some fresh air and relax. Let your mind wonder outside studying and take in the scenery and enjoy your time. You will feel a lot better when you come back to studying and you will be more productive.
Again, another easy task to do would be talking to your friends. Rant to them, talk to them, sing to them and maybe even dance with them. Organise a time between your schedule and do whatever the heck you want! This includes binge watching YouTube, binge watching Netflix for a night and maybe even go out to dinner with them. The more social you are, the better you will feel. However, in my case, I don't have many friends that I would really go out with, so I just go ahead and Skype my best friend for a night! We talk about random stuff, watch crazy videos together and just chill overall. We don't talk about studying and anything school related because then you would remind yourself of all the stress!
Another favourite of mine is listening to music. This can be anything you want to listen to. You can listen to classic music and relax or you can be like me and put an upbeat song on and end up dancing around the room! (Psst.. no-one will know about it) So take time out of your day to listen to music and have some time to yourself. Listening to music for 10 minutes won't kill your study schedule.
I love colouring and I find it so relaxing so that is my go-to activity when I am really stressed. Instead of stressing out the morning of my geography exam, I did some colouring. I spent 3 hours colouring instead of studying (shock, horror and amazement right?) and I walked into that exam feeling relaxed and ready to take on the world. I ended up walking out that exam knowing I aced all the questions! (Hopefully :D)
Having a book every you go. No, I'm not joking. Let's say you are studying but your mind wanders to some unknown place and you end up thinking about that for the next 20 minutes. You might end up stressed that you didn't study for those 20 minutes and then that leads to more stress.. its a never ending cycle. However, that could change if you had a book next to you. When your mind wanders, WRITE IT DOWN. That way it's not bothering you while you study and you can come back later. Not only this, but writing is also considered a form of relaxation. So go ahead and buy another notebook and scribble all over the pages.
I'm not going to go in depth with this one because you know cliche but exercise. Allow yourself 20 minutes a day to do some sort of activity. Running, a home workout video or even just walking a dog. Trust me, you will feel so much better after that!
Anyway, this has come to an end. I have so much more to share with you guys but I will leave you with these tips for now as they are the easiest tips to squezze into a tight schedule! I know what it feels like to be stressed so don't worry, you aren't alone. Remember, relax.
